Session Abstract
In an ever-evolving technological landscape, the existing roles and responsibilities within HTM may not be efficiently meeting the new demands within the healthcare environment.
Our department was originally structured with 6 roles; a director, assistant director, manager, lead biomed tech, certified biomed tech and biomed tech. As technology advanced while the roles remained the same, we experienced inefficient allocation of overlapping responsiblities. It rendered the need to reassess and create new job roles and titles within the department. We determined there are three types of categorical focuses: Leadership, project and operations. We created 7 new roles, totaling 13 titles.
