Conference Sessions Intro to Lasers – Why they are not like your standard Equipment
Objectives
Participants will learn basic troubleshooting skills no matter their skill level, what types of lasers are out there, and what to expect hazard wise when a laser is in their facility or they are working on it.
Session Abstract
The main objective of this session is to introduce technicians of all skill levels lasers and why they can be so complex compared to the other equipment they service. Lasers have tons of safety hazards ranging from radiation, chemical, electrical, fire, and many more, so it’s crucial to be at least familiar with basic troubleshooting skills to help protect your patients, your doctors, and yourself. On top of that, lasers can require special chemicals or knowledge to do basic maintenance on them and avoid breaking them. By the conclusion of this session, technicians should be comfortable to at least get familiar with laser devices, and have resources on troubleshooting, or even where to get additional training to work on them.
