Objectives
The participants will be informed on the development of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality. How these technologies are used and the future use of these technologies.
Session Abstract
The HTM industry since its conception has been responsible for electrical safety towards the patient. Over the years with the evolution of medical equipment technology, equipment had to be repaired as well as routine maintenance. As the opportunities for HTM professionals started to present itself in-depth training provided by OEM became more available and is now more important than ever. However, the diminishing staff of readily trained BMETs coupled with the lack of foundational BMET training programs and potential budget cuts to send BMETs to training has put the industry in a precarious predicament. The industry has been forced to now rely on a pool of technical talent that has not been foundationally trained. One of the ways to address the lack of foundation along with reducing the cost of training is the implementation an Immersive component for developing HTM professionals. In this presentation some of the uses of VR, AR, and mixed reality will be presented as an alternative.
